I'm having a 21st Century Breakdown

In response to the blog I posted on April 27th.. I wish to confirm that yes, Green Day still has it. I bought the album yesterday (though I had been listening to it online days prior to its official release). It's pretty damn good. Somehow it ever so slightly reminds me of Warning, which was one of my favourite Green Day albums (was? still is!) and then there are other elements to it that slightly echo other albums, as well as the parts that don't echo any of their previous albums but are undeniably, absolutely Green Day-esque. Songs on the new album that I currently cannot get enough of include (but are certainly not limited to!): Horseshoes and Handgrenades, 21 Guns, Last Night on Earth...

For someone who is a skeptic, I find it funny that I have a thing for somewhat slow, ballad-like love-esque songs.

  1. I finally listened to the album. I don't really know what I think of it yet. I think it's going to be like American Idiot how it took me a couple listens to get into it.
But the songs I instantly liked were: Know Your Enemy, iviva La Gloria!, Last Of The American Girls and 21 Guns.

Oh and on this site can you reply to comments? Because if you can I couldn't work it out.
